This was a gift for a friend that I've edited and refined for posting here. I should have another story up in a couple days; it's going to be one for my friend Jazz :)!
“I just don’t understand why you haven’t filed these yet, Evans. How hard is it to log into the system and input your report?” A rather large man paced back and forth within the small office and continued to hurl loud accusations against a smaller man in front of him.
The other man simply sighed and adjusted his collar and its gold pins. “Well, sir, if you’
The free city of Embercrest, situated on the banks of the large Gulf of Koresh, west of the Choral Sea, was a true contemporary wonder among the free city-states dotting the Gulf's shoreline. Its natural harbor acted as a gateway to the Ivrohanian Empire, just across the Choral Sea. Ivrohanian merchants would come and go as quickly as the changing of the seasons, bringing boundless spices, quilts, and commerce to Embercrest. Many different cultures have left their mark not just on the city's people, but also upon the city's identity. What historically was a city of no variation, Embercrest has grown into a multicultural hub and it's this that

Moon Child- CH1 (Revamped)
Of all things in this world, I hate the position I was put in the most. There are many words for what I go through: neglect, solitude, isolation. Loneliness. It’s my position of outcast, written upon their actions wherever I go. Its in the whispers behind my back, the glares and glances, by curious and angry onlookers. I despise them, the way they look at me. I’m not a circus act when it comes to this place. I’m not trying to be different. I hate this anger, this hurt that rears its head whenever i look for a smile, for something, a strand of affection, a simple word of praise and all I see is the wall between them and me.

Wow, it’s been a while since I’ve written…well anything huh? I guess I’ve just had to battle against my emotions for a while. I came to a point where I was just sad when I thought about writing. It’s not so much that I’m sad all the time, but it is as if my psyche is vulnerable to extreme instances of emotion, if that makes sense…oversensitivity in other words. It became very difficult to do anything writing related. Besides games and school, I really didn’t feel like doing anything else. I am sort of in the same boat r

One Dollar per Man / One Dollar Life's Worth
To every man's one hundred cents, take Life by the quarters.
No matter if rich or poor, you are only worth the dollar given
to you to live, or more if spent wisely minus all the nonsense.
do you remember
when you were beautiful, & I a beast?
now you're dutiful. I'm only a barista.
when a message was all we had
when our words were shattered glass
when you were popping codiene
& I was just ghosting.
if I walked past you, would it matter?
if I stopped asking, would it still hurt?
do you wonder
when I'll smoke less cigarettes
or stop hating my silhouette
on the floorboards?
now I do.
when love was a click away
when a drink could forget yesterday
when I ate only cold meat
& I washed my hair on Jesus' feet.
if I keep moving rocks around, will I go forward?
if I buy less, will I get more?
do you dream about
when you'll wake from n

A Writer's Guide: Believable Characters
I know a lot of you out there are aspiring-writers (I’m one myself!) and sometimes we get so caught up in this “must publish!” attitude that we get lost in our stories along the way. Sometimes there comes a point when we stare at our half-finished novel and say “I’m stuck. “ Usually these moments happen when we don’t know where we’re going next with our story, and usually that’s because somewhere along the line we’ve strayed off the path and we aren’t quite sure how to get back.
One of the things that you may find helpful if you’ve never done it before is to take a reall
Warning: Intense action, awesomeness, suspenseful situations, and great scenes!

This is for my first submission for the Writers Club Literary Contest. The prompt that we had to write about was entitled “Bird Cage”, so I hope you enjoy the story and I welcome any comments or suggestions which you may have! Thanks, love you guys!
“Fire the damn missiles! I don’t care what else happens, just keep firing” A deep voice sounded all throughout the ship’s hallways and chambers.
